WBH Museum Roy Case with his deer kill of December 6th, 1930 in Vilas County, depicts the first bow-killed deer in the State of Wisconsin as a sport. Roy coined the phrase “bowhunter.”Thanks to his efforts, along with others, a separate bowhunting season was established in 1934 and Wisconsin became the first state in the country to hold an archery-only deer hunt. Separate bow and gun deer hunting licenses began in 1965. The Wisconsin Bowhunting Heritage Foundation, Inc. has photos and donation options on their web page. |
Presidents Message Wright Allen has been the President of the Wisconsin Bowhunters Association for the past five years. President Allen writes a message to the WBH members every Spring, Fall, and Winter. |
